nullI had the pleasure to catch up with veteran actor Michael Beach and actor/comedian Eddie Griffin earlier today at the Ritz in Miami Beach, where the 2012 American Black Film Festival is in full effect; it's second day of sreenings and events.

Beach and Griffin spoke with me about David E. Talbert's play A Fool and His Money, currently out on DVD via Image Entertainment, and more about their upcoming projects.

A Fool premiered on BET June 10th. In the stage production, Beach plays "the head of down-on-their-luck family wins a radio contest for a million dollars.  Not surprisingly, it becomes very evident that everybody wants a piece of the family’s new found fortune, including a dubiously intentioned long lost uncle. Each character comes to vivid and hysterical life as their dreams and ambitions become viable with this recent windfall."

Beach has been busy in the past several months. He can be seen in Sparkle, out in theaters August 17th, the upcoming indie Things Never Said and this fall in Red Dawn. Look out for Griffin in this year's comedies Hillbilly Highway and ATypical Love.

Watch my interview below with the play's stars. Underneath it, catch the trailer of A Fool and His Money.
