The cast of Netflix’s Bayard Rustin biopic Rustin is shaping up.

Aml Ameen, CCH Pounder, Michael Potts, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Bill Irwin, Johnny Ramey, Gus Halper, Carra Patterson and Adrienne Warren have joined the cast of Rustin. Already announced earlier this month were Colman Domingo, Chris Rock, Audra McDonald and Glynn Turman.

The film stars Domingo as Rustin, the civil rights leader who worked closely alongside Martin Luther King Jr. and organized many of major events, including the 1963 March on Washington. Rustin was also a gay rights activist and a member of the LGBTQ+ community. His sexuality would at times be treated at odds by other civil rights leaders.

Ameen and Patterson will play King and Coretta Scott King, respectively. Pounder has been cast as civil rights leader, politician, writer and teacher Dr. Anna Hedgeman. Irwin will play politician and clergy member A.J. Muste, and Potts will play civil rights activist and labor organizer Cleveland Robinson. Warren, Halper and Ramey will play characters Claudia Taylor, Tom and Elias, respectively.

The film was written by Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom director George C. Wolfe and Dustin Lance Black. Wolfe will also direct. The Obama’s Higher Ground Productions are producing via Higher Ground execs Mark. R. Wright and Alex G. Scott. Bruce Cohen and Higher Ground’s Tonia Davis will also produce.
