Sanford & Son actor Raymond Allen has passed away. He was 91.
TMZ reports that the actor was in a long-term healthcare facility in California and was found unresponsive on Monday morning. He’d been in the healthcare facility since 2016. His survived by two children.
His daughter, actor Ta-Ronce Allen, confirmed the news Monday morning on Facebook, writing, “Just wanted to let The Allen Family and friends know that Dad received his wing two hours ago. His warmth, kind heart and cleaver sayings will be missed. His laughter will ring in heaven. Rest In Heavenly Peace Raymond Allen. The last of 12 siblings.”Allen was a character actor, primarily known for his role of Uncle Woody on Sanford & Son. He reprised the role as a series regular in the short-lived spinoff, The Sanford Arms.
He also played Ned the Wino on Good Times. Other guest stints include What’s Happening!, The Love Boat and Starsky and Hutch.
