TLC’s 1000 LB Sisters Star, Tammy Slaton, may have found love, but it appears that it was short-term.

On a recent episode of the TLC hit show, 35-year-old Tammy opens up about the split with his boyfriend of only one month, Phillip Redmond.

He has talked about dating women who are less than 300 pounds. Amy, Tammy’s sister, was extremely concerned with Tammy’s newfound love after trying for some time to get Tammy to lose weight. Phillip’s desire for larger women would compromise Amy’s goal for Tammy, as he didn’t want her to lose weight.

In an interview with People, Amy shared, “I’m trying to motivate Tammy because I do have my worries about Phillip, the new boyfriend. He loves big women, but she needs to lose this weight.”

Tammy introduced Phillip to fans a month ago after meeting.

Tammy felt that she had known Phillip forever despite just meeting him. Although a long-term relationship was something Tammy was hoping to have, her desires were cut short. After a month of dating the two called it quits after constantly getting into disagreements where Phillip is alleged to allude to her insecurities.

In the episode, Tammy told Amy, “We broke up. I guess you could say I did it, cause I was tired of fighting with him and he said my insecurities were my problem. And, like, at the beginning of the relationship I told him, I was like, can you promise you’ll help me through my insecurities. He said it got to be too much.”

Phillip isn’t the only thing Tammy quit.

Tammy admitted she left the food addiction rehab after only losing 60 pounds of the 100 pounds her doctor requested Tammy to lose.

Although Tammy claimed she was homesick, others felt that Phillip was a distraction causing Tammy not to put her heart into her health. At her first weigh-in, Tammy had regained 15 of the 60 pounds she lost back.

“I’m very quick to trust, and that’s one of my downfalls,” Tammy said later in the episode. “So in the long run, I do end up getting hurt real hard, real bad.”
