Actress Ajiona Alexus, who stars in the controversial Netflix series, 13 Reasons Why, is set to make her major film debut with Gabrielle Union in the thriller, Breaking In.

The film will see Union re-team once again with frequent collaborator Will Packer, who is the executive producer of Being Mary Jane.  V for Vendetta’s James McTeigue is directing the film.

Union is producing the project with Packer, James Lopez, Craig Perry and Sheila Taylor. Filming will start on the project this month.

The plot follows Union’s character Shaun, who moves to Malibu to with her two kids to settle her father’s estate after his death. She will ward off criminals during a home invasion. Alexus will portray the eldest child.

Prior to 13 Reasons, Alexus starred in The Rickey Smiley Show as D’Anna and portrayed a young Cookie Lyon (Taraji P. Henson) on multiple episodes of Empire. Ironically, she’ll appear with Henson in Tyler Perry’s She’s Living My Life next year.
