The Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE) and the Writers Guild of America, West (WGAW) tonight announced the winners of the 2017 Writers Guild Awards for outstanding achievement in writing for film, television, new media, videogames, news, radio, promotional, and graphic animation categories at concurrent ceremonies at the Edison Ballroom in New York City and The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.

Winners of note with respect to this blog’s interests include Barry Jenkins winning the Best Original Screenplay for “Moonlight”; Donald Glover’s “Atlanta” picked up the Best Comedy Series as well as the Best New Series in the TV category; in the Original Long Form category, “Confirmation” picked up the award; and in the Adapted Long Form category, “The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story” won.
