2022 Emmys Full Nominations List: 'Abbott Elementary,' 'Euphoria,' Issa Rae, 'Yellowjackets,' 'Severance' And More Rack Up Key Nods

Abbott Elementary tops the list of nominations during the 74th Emmys nominations ceremony, held Tuesday and hosted by JB Smoove and Melissa Fumero.

The series was nominated for several awards in the categories Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series (Quinta Brunson), Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series (Janelle James and Sheryl Lee Ralph), Supporting Actor In a Comedy Series (Tyler James Williams) and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series (Quinta Brunson, “Pilot”).

Other notable nominations include Issa Rae as Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for Insecure, Donald Glover as Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Atlanta and Nicole Byer’s Nailed It, RuPaul’s Drag Race, The Voice and Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls for Outstanding Competition Program. Zendaya has been nominated once again for her leading role on Euphoria in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series category, and Euphoria, Squid Game, Severance, Stranger Things and Yellowjackets were nominated for Outstanding Drama Series.

Squid Game is continuing its history-making run in America; along with being nominated as a series, its stars have also been nominated for individual awards. Lee Jung-jae is in the running for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series and Jung Ho-yeon has been nominated for Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. Park Hae-soo and Oh Yeong-su have both been nominated in the Supporting Actor in a Drama Series category and Lee You-mi is in the running for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series. The series’ theme music has also been nominated and creator Hwang Dong-hyuk earned a writing nomination. In terms of Emmys noms, it ranks with Abbott Elementary as a favorite for Emmys voters.

Other nominations include The White Lotus Dopesick and Inventing Anna for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, Zoey’s Extraordinary Christmas, Chip ‘n’Dale: Rescue Rangers and Reno 911: The Hunt For QAnon for Outstanding Television Movie and Ted Lasso’s Toheeb Jimoh for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Natasha Rothwell was nominated for Oustanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series for Sanaa Lathan also earned a nomination for her guest role on Succession, as was Colman Domingo for his guest role in Euphoria. Jerrod Carmichael got a guest nod for Saturday Night Live and Sam Richardson got one for Ted Lasso.

Robin Thede’s A Black Lady Sketch Show, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, and Saturday Night Live (featuring the writing of Michael Che, Vannessa Jackson and others) were nominated for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series, and the Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special category included nominations for The Daily Show with Trevor Noah Presents: Jordan Klepper Fingers The Globe – Hungary for Democracy, Jerrod Carmichael: Rothaniel and Nicole Byer: BBW (Big Beautiful Weirdo). The Daily Show also earned a nomination for its short-form behind-the-scenes content on YouTube. Saturday Night Live (featuring the talents of Che, Kenan Thompson, Ego Nwodim, Chris Redd and Punkie Johnson) and A Black Lady Sketch Show also received nominations for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series.

Queer Eye (starring Karamo Brown) and Shark Tank (starring Daymond John) were nominated for Outstanding Structured Reality Program and RuPaul’s Drag Race Untucked was nominated for Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program. The Henry Louis Gates, Jr.-executive produced documentary Frederick Douglass: In Five Speeches was nominated for Exceptional Merit in Documentary Filmmaking, while jeen-yus: A Kanye Trilogy and We Need To Talk About Cosby were nominated for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series.

Controversially, Dave Chappelle: The Closer was nominated for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded). But other less-controversial variety special nominations include Live In Front of Studio Audience: The Facts of Life and Diff’rent Strokes and The Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show Starring Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and 50 Cent for Outstanding Variety Special (Live).

Black talent also scored big in the voice-over and narration category, with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, W. Kamau Bell, Lupita Nyong’o and Barack Obama earning Outstanding Narrator nominations for Black Patriots: Heroes of the Civil War, We Need To Talk About Cosby, Serengeti II, and Our Great National Parks, respectively. Chadwick Boseman also earned a posthumous nomination alongside Jeffrey Wright and Maya Rudolph in the Outstanding Voice-Over Character Performance category. Boseman and Wright were nominated for the work on Marvel’s What If…, while Rudolph was nominated for her role on Big Mouth.

Black online content also received its fair share of nominations. Along with The Daily Show with Trevor Noah earning a short-form nomination for its YouTube behind the scenes content, Syndee Washington and Jacinte Blankenship were nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series for their work in Bridesman and Intersection, respectively. Anthony A. Anderson and Ikechukwu Ufomadu were also nominated in the Outstanding Actor in a Short Form or Comedy Series category for Anacostia and Words with Ike (Cake), respectively.
