The 2017 rom-com stars Jessica Williams as Jessica James, a New York playwright trying to get her big break while suffering from a breakup. After a blind date with a divorced app designer, she embarks on a new, unexpected relationship. The film also stars Lakeith Stanfield and Chris O’Dowd.

2. Irreplaceable You

The 2018 film starring Gugu-Mbatha Raw and Michiel Huisman features a couple, Abbie (Mbatha-Raw) and Sam (Huisman), who have known each other since childhood. But after a devastating cancer diagnosis, Abbie tries to find a new girlfriend for Sam, who knows nothing about dating. The film also stars Christopher Walken, Steve Coogan and Kate McKinnon.

3. Love Jacked

Amber Stevens West stars in this 2018 rom-com with Mike Epps, Keith David and Shamier Anderson. She plays a woman named Maya who wants to be an artist despite her father’s (David) wishes for her to run the family business. In order to try to live her own life, she leaves for Africa and comes back with a fiancé. The film also stars Marla Gibbs, Demetrius Grosse and Lyriq Bent.

4. Falling Inn Love

Christina Milian stars in this 2019 film as Gabriela, a city girl who wins a picturesque inn in New Zealand. She also ends up winning at love when she teams up with local contractor Jake (Adam Demos) to help her bring the inn to its former glory. The film also stars Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman.

5. Hitch

Will Smith headlines in this 2005 box office smash as the title character, a matchmaker and dating expert who is trying to help hapless men get the woman of their dreams. Turns out he ends up getting taught about relationships by gossip columnist Sara (Eva Mendes), who isn’t charmed by any of Hitch’s dating tricks. The film also stars Kevin James, Nathan Lee Graham, Paula Patton, Michael Rapaport and Adam Arkin.
