50 Cent Inks New Deal With Fox Entertainment To Develop Animated Shows, Live-Action Comedies And Scripted Dramas

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has found a new home at Fox Entertainment.

Michael Thorn, President of Scripted Programming, FOX Entertainment, announced on Tuesday that the multihyphenate and FOX Entertainment have signed a non-exclusive, multi-project broadcast direct deal.

The news comes as 50 Cent exited his previous deal at Lionsgate and Starz.

Jackson will create animated shows, live-action comedies and scripted dramas for Fox through his production company, G-Unit Film & Television. Series that come out of the deal will be produced by G-Unit Film & Television in association with Fox Entertainment Studios and will be owned by Fox Entertainment.

Thorn said in a statement about the deal: “Whether it’s music, film or television, Curtis always delivers premium entertainment that captivates millions of fans across the globe. He is the rare multi-hyphenate with a deft hand at storytelling, no matter the format or medium, and we’re looking forward to developing new and exciting series for FOX with him and his team.”

Jackson, in a statement, also commented on the deal saying:

“I am excited to formalize a partnership with Michael Thorn and FOX that will allow G-Unit Film & Television to focus on putting multiple series on FOX, a perfect broadcast destination for G-Unit Film & Television content while our premium, streaming, scripted and non-scripted slates continue to grow in all directions.”

Jackson is responsible for producing the hit series Power and its subsequent spinoffs, including Power Book II: Ghost, Power Book III: Raising Kanan, and Power Book IV: Force.

Though he is no longer under a deal at Lionsgate and Starz, the Power universe series are still running strong and a similar universe of series revolving around his other series at the network, BMF, is in development– according to Jackson.
