'9-1-1' Star Ryan Guzman Criticized For Admitting To Using Racial Slurs

9-1-1 actor Ryan Guzman is under fire for his and his fiancee's use of racial slurs.

According to TVLine, Guzman went on Instagram Live Monday to defend his fiancee, Brazilian model/actress Chrysti Ane, who used the N-word in a series of 2011 tweets. Ane has since apologized for the tweets, saying that she was using it after dating a Black man and feeling "accepted" by Black America.

While trying to defend Ane, Guzman admitted that he and his friends also use slurs to make fun of each other.

"I have plenty of friends--Black white, Asian Indian, whatever they are, Korean, and we make fun of each other's races all the time," he said. "We call each other slurs all the time. We don't get butt hurt at all because we know the actual person, we know who each other are. We know that we're not trying to bring each other down."

Fans quickly reacted to the admission, leading to Guzman to defensively tweet that he was "done defending myself and my family to people who are as quick to judge as they are to condemn."

Guzman's co-star, Oliver Stark, tweeted against Guzman's use of slurs, writing in part, "I can tell you that my opinion is there is absolutely no excuse for the use of the N-word. It belongs to the Black community only and I absolutely don't agree with it being used by anyone under any circumstances."
