Aaron Rahsaan Thomas – UTA

Writer/producer Aaron Rahsaan Thomas has inked a 2-year overall deal with Sony Pictures TV – his first ever overall deal.

Thomas, also an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts, began his professional career as a writer’s assistant on the TV series “Soul Food.” His other credits include writing and/or producing episodes for other TV series, including “SouthLAnd,” “Sleepy Hollow,” “Friday Night Lights,” “Numb3rs,” “CSI:NY,” and most recently “The Get Down,” to name a few.




His feature film writing credits include “Cover,” directed by Bill Duke, released in 2007.

He’s been nominated for a Writers Guild of America Award for Best New Series (the first season of “Friday Night Lights”); for its Best Dramatic Series (the second season of “Friday Night Lights”); and the same award the following season of the series.

Finally, he has one directing credit on his resume – an episode of ESPN’s “30 for 30” documentary series, “Trojan War.”
