In short, Shadow and Act is a web portal dedicated to cinema, television and web content of Africa and its global Diaspora. With daily news, interviews, in-depth investigations into the audiovisual industry, and more, Shadow and Act aims to promote content created by and about people of African descent throughout the world.
We are a collective of writers, directors, film critics, culture critics, DPs, editors, film festival programmers, film enthusiasts, and much more, led by the site’s founding creator, Tambay A Obenson, all interested in discussing primarily film and filmmakers of Africa and its Diaspora.
