Adepero Oduye In Talks To Co-Star in Steve McQueen's "12 Years A Slave"

nullWe've been seeing some rumors circling the web in the past few days. The Playlist however, may have some inside scoop, and it looks like Adepero Oduye is currently circling a role in Steve McQueen's highly anticipated 12 Years A Slave.

Oduye may join a stellar cast, which so far includes Chiwetel Ejiofor, Brad Pitt and Michael Fassbender. 12 Years is based on the true narratives of Solomon Northtrup about a free black man tricked into slavery and taken as a slave to a Louisiana plantation.

Oduye could presumably play, maybe, the role of Northrup's wife. Brad Pitt will play the Northern lawyer hired by Northrup's wife to set her husband free. Fassbender will most likely play Edwin Epps, the "uneducated, ignorant, alcoholic redneck asshole"  Louisiana plantation owner and Northrup's master.

Tambay last posted character details and some more info on the film's funding HERE.

Shooting is scheduled to begin in June in Louisiana.
