Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje Joins Cast of 'Game of Thrones' (New Character Not in Novels) + 'Trumbo'

First, the actor has landed a role in the upcoming 5th season of HBO’s hit franchise series "Game of Thrones." Details on the role are not yet public, but, according to THR, it’s not a character from the actual novels the series is based on. 

And secondly, he’s joined the cast of Jay Roach’s feature project on the life of blacklisted screenwriter Dalton Trumbo, titled simply "Trumbo," with Bryan Cranston in the starring role. Helen Mirren, Diane Lane, John Goodman, Peter MackenzieRoger Bart round out the cast.

Akinnuoye-Agbaje has signed up to play a character named Virgil Brooks, who’s described as "a powerful and severe man who works at the Ashland Federal Prison," who is assigned to keep watch over Trumbo.

The "Lost" actor will next be seen in "Annie," the musical adaptation starring Quvenzhane Wallis as the title character. It opens in December.
