Ahead of next month’s premiere of the Netflix series it’s based on, Justin Simien’s feature directorial debut “Dear White People” will make its cable television debut on BET this Saturday, March 11th, at 8pm ET/PT, the network announced today.

Encore airings will follow on Sunday, 3/12, at 5pm ET/PT; Wednesday, 3/15, at 5pm ET/PT ; and Thursday, 3/16, at 2pm ET/PT.

The Netflix series premieres on the premiere SVOD platform on April 28, 2017, for what will be a 10-episode comedy series, starring Logan Browning.

Loosely based on Simien’s own experiences as an undergraduate at a predominantly white university, the 2014 film stars Tessa Thompson, Tyler James Williams, Teyonah Parris and Dennis Haysbert to name a few; it was the winner of the 2014 Sundance Film Festival’s Special Jury Award for Breakthrough Talent.
