'All American' Is Seemingly In Danger Of Being Canceled — Here's How You Can Help Save It

February 11th 2019

If you are a fan of The CW's football drama All American, now may be the time to worry.

Ahead of the network's TCA tour presentation, The CW renewed all of its fall slate, except All American.

Because of this, it is clear that the show is in danger of not being renewed. When asked about the fate of the show, The CW network president Mark Pedowitz said, "We are extremely proud of that show. We think the production qualities and the storytelling of that show is up there with Jane and Crazy Ex. At this point, it is nothing to do about the show. We are going to sit down in May and determine what the needs are at that moment. I am very positive about it. It’s going to be a conversation in the scheduling room, but it is a show I’m proud to support."

When further probed about why the show was not listed with the renewals if it's not canceled, Pedowitz said, "Well, one of the things that will happen is we’re running the full 16 episodes. The show is staying on the air. I am a huge supporter. If you get an opportunity I got lucky I’ve already seen episode 15, which is some of the best TV you will ever see it will make it up on Netflix around March 30, March 31. We’re going to be curious to see how it does out of season streaming at that point. And that will help give us some more determination."

So now, you know what to do: If you want to see more All American, watch it when it hits Netflix in late March!

The official description of All American reads: Spencer James is a rising high school football player and A student at South Crenshaw High. Compton is the place he calls home. But when Beverly High School's football coach Billy Baker recruits him to join his team in Beverly Hills, Spencer's mother, Grace, and his best friend, Coop, convince Spencer it's an opportunity he has to seize. Now Spencer must navigate two worlds, the south side neighborhood that he knows and the affluent Beverly Hills world that has offered him an opportunity for something bigger.

Inspired by the life of NFL player Spencer Paysinger, the series stars Daniel Ezra, Taye Diggs, Samantha Logan, Bre-Z, Greta Onieogou, Monet Mazur, Michael Evans Behling, Cody Christian and Karimah Westbrook.
