Sundance darling All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt is making its way to theaters this fall. The new trailer for the film showcases the type of dreamscape audiences will be able to see.

The Raven Jackson-written and directed film, produced by Barry Jenkins, has been celebrated by critics as a haunting and beautiful portrayal of southern Black life. For Shadow and Act, Aramide A. Tinubu called the film one of the films that are instead “portraits that come to life,” such as Julie Dash’s Daughters of the Dust.

“Jackson’s visuals are breathtaking,” Tinubu wrote, “…[T]he camera acts more like a hidden voyeur as if it happened upon these particular slices of life instead of seeking them out.”

The film stars Charleen McClure, Moses Ingram, Reginald Helms Jr., Zainab Jah with Sheila Atim and Chris Chalk. Along with Jenkins, the film is also produced by Adele Romanski, Mark Ceryak and Maria Altamirano.
