Disney struck gold with High School Musical and The Descendants, and the studio is trying to strike gold again with a new musical movie based on Lionel Richie classics.

Variety reports that Disney is developing a new original movie musical with the working title All Night Long, based on Richie’s vast catalog of hits. The project is in the early development stages, but Variety has learned from sources that the film could come to theaters.

The film is set to have a “jukebox musical vibe” similar to Mamma Mia, which is based entirely around ABBA’s ’70s hits.

Richie is producing with is manager Bruce Eskowitz, as well as Calvary Media’s Dana Brunetti and Matt Del Piano. Crazy Rich Asians co-screenwriter Pete Chiarelli will write the script.
