Netflix has announced the remainder of the principal cast for Altered Carbon Season 2. Netflix made the announcement in a video on Friday.

As reported last year, Anthony Mackie leads the series, taking over for Joel Kinnaman.

The show, based on the novels by Richard K. Morgan, focuses on Kovacs, a former elite soldier called an Envoy who is reawakened hundreds of years in a new body and is tapped to solve a murder. Mackie’s portrayal of Kovacs will play on this theme as the character continues to discover the depths of the human condition.

Now, we know that Renée Elise Goldsberry and Chris Conner return to reprise their roles as Quellcrist Falconer and Poe, despite the Season 2 cast retool. Reportedly, most of the Season 1 cast, including Kinnaman only had one-year deals.

As far as new cast members, former Luke Cage standout Simone Missick, Dina Shihabi,  Torben Liebrecht and James Saito will also star.

Missick will play Trepp, described as an “expert bounty hunter” that’s “known for her ability to track down anyone in the Settled Worlds, for the right price.”

Goldsberry, of course, portrays Quell, a revolutionary leader that is “driven by her desire to reset the balance between life and death.” Kovacks “swears allegiance to no man or woman,” except Quell, and “his undying quest to reconnect with her spans multiple centuries, planets and sleeves.”
