Amanda Stenberg is currently in talks to star in a new Disney+ Star Wars series called The Acolyte. The series is from Russian Doll creator Leslye Headland.
As reported by Variety, the series will take place in a much different era of Star Wars, about 50 years before the start of The Phantom Menace. An Acolyte in Star Wars is a Sith who is just starting their training, so it would make sense that the series will follow that process and that Stenberg will be playing the titular acolyte.
Details on who Stenberg will be playing are being kept under wraps by Lucasfilm.
The show is set to start production next year
Headland will serve as head writer, producer, and showrunner for the series, and it will look to start production in 2022.
Along with Stenberg being linked to star in The Acolyte, the cast of the Rosario Dawson-led Ahsoka series is rounding out, and trailers and more details have come out about The Book of Boba Fett, which premieres Dec. 29. Other Star Wars series, all coming out of the flagship series, The Mandalorian, have also been set.
