It was announced about a year ago that a film adaptation of Nicola Yoon’s debut novel, “Everything, Everything,” was set up at MGM studios, with J. Mills Goodloe scripting the YA (young adult) novel centered around a 17-year-old girl with severe combined immunodeficiency – causing multiple allergies – which prevents her from leaving the house, only seeing her mother and her nurse, until a boy moves in next door, and she begins to fall in love with him.

Earlier this year, writer/director Stella Meghie (whose feature film debut, “Jean of the Joneses,” is currently touring the film festival circuit) became attached to direct the adaptation of Yoon’s best-selling novel which was first published last September.

Announced today, Amandla Stenberg and Nick Robinson have both been cast in the film’s lead roles –  Maddy, the girl, and Olly, the boy who moves in next door.

Les Morgenstein and Elysa Dutton of Alloy Entertainment Features will produce.

Sternberg is certainly busy; she’s also currenntly attached to Amma Asante’s next film, “Where Hands Touch,” a romantic drama that centers on a mixed-race German girl and an SS Officer; she’s also attached to star in George Tillman Jr.’s #BlackLivesMatter-inspired film based on Angela Thomas’ debut novel, “The Hate U Give.”

Meghie’s “Jean of the Joneses” (which stars Taylour Paige, Sherri Shepherd, Gloria Reuben) was also good enough for CAA to sign her for representation in all areas. In addition to “Everything, Everything,” she’s currently developing a pilot for Warner Bros TV.

If you’d read it “Everything, Everything,” please share your reactions to it. For the rest of you, if you’d like to buy a copy, you can do so by clicking here, or the book cover below.

The Hollywood Reporter was first to report the news of Sternberg’s attachment.
