Those who tuned into the Law & Order: SVU Season 19 (yes, 19) premiere were in for a treat after the episode, in which the promo for next week revealed that Underground star Amirah Vann would appear in Episode 2.

Vann’s character is named Michelle Morrison, and she’ll have something to do with investigating child abuse accusations against Lt. Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay). It is unknown whether she is a maybe a child protective services administrator, or perhaps something even higher, like an Assistant District Attorney. At the end of the premiere, it was revealed by Brian Cassidy (Dean Winters) that this was a DA-led investigation (in reality, Benson grabbed her son when he almost got hit by a taxi).

It would be awesome if she was the latter, opening up the opportunity for Vann to come back or have a major role. Wouldn’t she be great as an SVU ADA, maybe bumping up Rafael Barba (Raul Esparza) to maybe an Executive District Attorney role? Or even if this doesn’t pan out, SVU loves to bring people back as new characters, so maybe Vann can be a new detective, a new medical examiner (a la Tamara Tunie’s Melinda Warner) or something to have her on each week.

Plus, looks like she and Hargitay both are equally stoked about this one episode, what if we got her on as a recurring or main cast member?

Also, we have to point out the fun fact that former SVU leading man, Christopher Meloni, stars alongside Vann in Underground.
