Aml Ameen Will Make Directorial Debut With 'A Night Worth Living' Starring Skylan Brooks And Jaz Sinclair

Up-and-coming British actor Aml Ameen has set his directorial debut.

Ameen recently starred in Netflix’s Sense8 and headlines Idris Elba’s feature directorial debut, which is premiering at Sundance.

His directorial debut, A Night Worth Living, is financed by QC Entertainment, which is one of the companies behind Get Out, along with Eletric Republic.

The film will star The Get Down’s Skylan Brooks and When The Bough Breaks’ Jaz Sinclair.

According to THR, who first reported the news, here’s the film’s description: The story takes its cues from the current age of social media and viral videos and centers on a high school romance blogger (Brooks) who uses his platform to anonymously end a relationship between his childhood sweetheart (Sinclair) and her cheating internet star boyfriend, in hope of taking his place.

Ameen also wrote the screenplay.

A Night Worth Living is a coming of age story based on truths and characters from my teenage years, and inspired in part by the John Hughes movies I grew up loving. Movies like The Breakfast Club was the reason I wanted to become a filmmaker,” he said.

Production will begin this Spring and additional roles are being cast.

This comes at a time where several actors are making their directorial debuts. Ironically, QC’s Get Out was from a first-time director, Jordan Peele.
