About Last Night is set to make its World Premiere at Pan African Film Festival as the festival’s Centerpiece Film, next month. Immediately after that, during Valentine’s Day week, the film will open in theaters nationwide.
Ahead of that, a new red-band trailer (for language primarily) has been released and is embedded below.

One of a handful of upcoming films from super-producer Will Packer, that are scheduled for release in the next 6 to 12 months, is Screen Gems’ remake of the 1986 rom-com, About Last Night, starring Packer’s Think Like A Man co-stars Michael EalyRegina Hall and Kevin Hart, as well as Joy Bryant.

This contemporary version closely follows two new couples as they… “journey from the bar to the bedroom, and are eventually put to the test in the real world.

Edward Zwick directed the original that starred Rob Lowe and Demi Moore as couple number 1, with James Belushi and Elizabeth Perkins as would-be couple number 2.

In the remake, Hart plays the Belushi role; while Ealy is in the lead, originated by Rob Lowe.

Regina Hall plays the role originated on film by Elizabeth Perkins, the best friend, who has a love/hate relationship with Hart’s character.

And finally Joy Bryant plays Demi Moore’s role.

Steve Pink is the film’s director, which, from all we’ve read and heard thus far, may be closer in content to the original play that the first film was based on – Sexual Perversity in Chicago – written by David Mamet, in the sense that it was more R-rated than the 1986 rom-com film adaptation, full of profanity.

We’ll see when Screen Gems releases the film on February 14, 2014.
