You'll remember the What's Your Story? contribution from actress/singer Andrea Lewis, an alum of Degrassi The Next Generation, posted on this site earlier this year.

Over the years, Andrea has appeared in parts here and there on film, TV, stage, and also on the web (via an online space called ThoseGirlsAreWild.com); she also released an album  (read her What's Your Story? submission HERE if you missed it).

This week, Andrea alerted us to a stage project she's starring in, here in NYC, titled It Takes a Village to Raise…Hell.

Description:

After readings at The National Black Theatre Festival (N.C.), Chicago Dramatists in Chicago, Theater for the New City in New York, it's here for a premiere production in Times Square, New York! 1989, Western Pennsylvania. A young girl is caught in the middle of a dangerous love triangle while her family struggles to protect her… By any means necessary!

The play runs for 2 weeks in NYC; first, it opens at the Roy Arias Theatre, 300 W. 43 Street, on October 3, and runs through October 7; and continues at the 133rd Street Arts Center, 308 W.1 33 St (St. btwn St. Nicholas/Frederick Douglass BLVD) from Tuesday, October 9 to Saturday, October 13th.

Tickets are $25 for both evening and matinee shows; $15 for seniors and students with ID.
