The future of Mary Cosby’s career as a cast member on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is unknown. The Pentecostal pastor has been a fan favorite and also controversial for her remarks on race and her co-stars, as well as her quirky ways. But Cosby’s recent decision not to attend the reunion taping has Bravo honcho Andy Cohen in an uproar. While it isn’t officially confirmed that she won’t return, not attending a reunion often means that you are essentially quitting your series.

Page Six reported that Cosby didn’t attend the reunion episode because she “did not want to confront the controversy surrounding her this season.” “She was terrified of getting grilled about her ‘racist’ comments made toward Jennie and Jen,” an insider revealed. “She also did not want to discuss the accusations that she runs a cult.”
Cosby isn’t the first full-time housewife to not attend a reunion. Jacqueline Laurita skipping out on Season 4 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Her spot on the show remained until she left after Season 7. But a source says Cosby’s spot on the show is probably in jeopardy.
“Skipping out on the reunion is a big no-no for Housewives,” the source added. “This was the kiss of death for Mary. She hardly has any alliances left in the cast, who hoped she would have shown up to the reunion to take accountability for her behavior and the allegations about her church.”
Andy Cohen explains why he’s disappointed Mary Cosby didn’t attend the reunion
Cohen first addressed Cosby’s absence in an Instagram Q&A with fans. He further elaborated on her decision to miss the reunion on his Radio Andy talk show.
“As you heard, Mary Crosby did not come, which was very disappointing to me.” Cohen went on to explain that he knew in advance that it was a strong possibility Cosby wouldn’t attend. “No, I had a sense. I spoke to her on New Year’s Eve a few hours before I went on the air. We had a long talk and…it’s her story to tell, but I got the sense that she was not finding gratitude in being on the show anymore.”
Furthermore, he says it would have been preferred had Cosby attended the show and then quit, if that was her desire. “And this is what I dislike about people not showing up to the reunion, you allow the others to control your narrative as your last gesture. You know, I would much rather hear from her,” he said. “The truth of the matter is, she was a big part of the success of this show! If she doesn’t want to come back to the show, that’s one thing. But I would have liked for her to come back to the reunion, have her say, and leave with her head held high, and then make the decision [to return or not].”
