Netflix‘s upcoming new fantasy film has added Angela Bassett to star opposite Millie Bobby Brown.
According to Deadline, Bassett and Brown are starring in Damsel, which centers around “a princess shocked to discover that she’ll be sacrificed to the kingdom’s sacred cave dragon, after being married to her prince charming. She must survive long enough until someone comes to save her – only no one is coming.”

In Damsel, Millie Bobby Brown stars as Elodie, the “damsel in distress” who decides to save herself by slaying the dragon herself instead of waiting for a knight to save her.
Bassett will play Elodie’s stepmother Lady Bayford. Damsel will be directed by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Juan Carlos Fresnadillo from a script written by Dan Mazeau.
The actress recently wrapped Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and the fifth season of her Fox series, 9-1-1. Her last film was also at Netflix with Gunpowder Milkshake.
