A Brian Tyree Henry-led series titled Sinking Spring is close to getting a series order at Apple TV+.

The eight-episode series is from Peter Craig and also counts Henry as an executive producer. Directed and executive produced Ridley Scott, the project is from Apple Studios and will be produced by Scott Free Productions.

Based on Dennis Tafoya’s book Dope Thief, the series “follows long-time Philly friends and delinquents who pose as DEA agents to rob an unknown house in the countryside, only to have their small-time grift become a life-and-death enterprise, as they unwittingly reveal and unravel the biggest hidden narcotics corridor on the Eastern seaboard.”

This is Craig’s first TV project to be in development. He wrote all episodes and will direct one of them. Scott executive produces for Scott Free Productions alongside David W. Zucker, Jordan Sheehan and Clayton Krueger. Tafoya is a consulting producer.

Scott Free Productions has a first-look TV deal at Apple TV+. This is the latest Henry and Apple collaboration after the upcoming film Causeway, which he will star in with Jennifer Lawrence.
