Ashleigh Murray Defends '13 Reasons Why' Star Grace Saif After Bullying, Speaks Out About Racist Attacks From 'Riverdale' Fans

After was being reported that 13 Reasons Why star Grace Saif deleted her social media due to cyber-bullying, Riverdale star Ashleigh Murray has offered her support.

Murray, who plays Josie on the popular CW show, tweeted about how she had to endure her own barrage of hate, much of it based in racial epithets.

"People have literally called me a monkey, trash, sloppy, classless darkie and told me to jump in an oven because...Josie kissed Archie," she said, adding that she doesn't blame Saif for leaving social media.

As S&A reported this week, the reason Saif, who plays Ani on the latest season of 13 Reason Why, chose to leave social media were discussed by her co-star Timothy Granaderos on Instagram.

"Hey Y'all, just a reminder. Whether or not you support, like, or love, a character in our fictional tv show--please remember that there is a talented and beautiful actor/actress bringing those scripted words to life," he wrote. "One of the underlining themes in our show is to take care of each other. I've seen some pretty nasty things being said online, concerning the introduction of a new character. Y'all are passionate & we love you for that, but PLEASE PLEASE try to be kind and respect the work of the talented actress/actor behind the character. Love y'all & keep taking care of each other."
