Ashleigh Murray is making a return to The CW to star in the Nancy Drew spinoff, Tom Swift.

We’ve confirmed Murray will star opposite Tian Richards, who plays the titular character that he portrayed first in an episode of Nancy Drew.

She will play Zenzi Fullington. Described as “efficient and effervescent, but nobody’s fool. She’s been Tom’s best friend since childhood and considers him family – and she’s one of the few people who can keep up with Tom and read him for filth when necessary.”

Tom Swift will make history as a rare major series with a Black gay lead. It is based on the book series and will be the start of building a ‘Drew-niverse,’ spawned by Nancy Drew.

It “follows the serialized adventures of its titular Black, gay, billionaire inventor who is thrust into a world of sci-fi conspiracy and unexplained phenomena after the shocking disappearance of his father.  Tom takes to the road on a quest to unravel the truth, leaving behind the comforts of his usual moneyed lifestyle, all while fighting to stay one step ahead of an Illuminati-scale group hell-bent on stopping him.  Tom’s missions will require his genius and flair for innovation guided by love, romance, friendship and the mysteries of the universe yet-unsolved”

The series is co-created Melinda Hsu Taylor, Noga Landau and Cameron Johnson, who also serve as executive producers along with Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage and Lis Rowinski.

Murray is most known for starring in Riverdale and its spinoff, Katy Keene, as Josie McCoy.

She is represented by  Innovative Artists, and Kimberly Jago of G&G Talent.
