The trailer for the fourth and final season of Atlanta is here, and the crew is back in the south, but are now questioning everything.

The fourth season teaser is delightfully weird, as Atlanta always is. The surrealism backs up the thesis for the final arc of Donald Glover’s comedy–what is it like to change?

According to the official description:

Season 4 finds “Earn” (Donald Glover), “Alfred ‘Paper Boi’ Miles” (Brian Tyree Henry), “Darius” (LaKeith Stanfield) and “Van” (Zazie Beetz) back in their hometown. But the question is, has Atlanta changed or have they?

The series' fourth season being its last isn't a surprise to anyone who has been following the series.

Glover talked about reaching the end of his story earlier this year at the Television Critics Association.

“To be honest, I wanted to end it after Season 2, and I think we had talked about that for a minute,” he told TCA members, according to Shadow and Act in February. “Like, we had talked about [how] death is natural. I feel like when the conditions are right for something, they happen, and when the conditions aren’t right for it, they don’t happen. You can’t do too much.”

“I feel like the story was always supposed to be what it was, and the story…it really was us,” he continued. “Like, everybody in that writers’ room, everybody on set, it really was what we were going through and what we talked about, and that’s the only way I like to make things.

The new season drops this September on FX. 'Atlanta' is executive produced by Glover, Stephen Glover, Hiro Murai, Stefani Robinson, Paul Simms and Dianne McGunigle. 'Atlanta' is produced by FX Productions.
