Ava DuVernay has given fans more insight into DC’s New Gods film adaptation.

DuVernay told fans via Twitter Tuesday that the Female Furies and Darkseid will be the main villains in the film.

“How could any self-respecting Barda fan not include The Furies?!” she added, referring to DC Comics heroine Big Barda. “I’m looking forward to them so much.”

She also revealed why she tapped Mister Miracle comic book writer Tom King to co-write the film with her.

“Because I’m a big fan of his too and asked him to write it with me and he said yes. Lucky me!” she tweeted.

This news adds on to the hint she gave Monday about someone from When Will They See Us being eventually added to the New Gods cast. “In each of my narrative projects since my first film entitled I WILL FOLLOW, I bring over an actor from the last project I made. So yes, there is a 99.9% chance this will happen again,” she tweeted.

But she did clarify during her Tuesday #AskAva Twitter Q and A session that she hasn’t narrowed down who she will cast for any role. When someone asked if she already had an actor on a list to play a character, she wrote, “Nope. Keeping my mind open.”

But with all of that news, we now have a better picture of what kind of battles we can expect when New Gods comes to theaters in the near future.
