Ballers will end after its upcoming fifth season on HBO.

Dwayne Johnson revealed the news on Instagram, stating, “Cheers to our FINAL SEASON of @HBO’s BALLERS ???? My heart ???? is full of gratitude to all of you for rockin’ with us every season. You made us HBO’s highest rated comedy for years and most importantly, you helped create and sustain a platform for other actors to have the OPPORTUNITY to work hard, grow and become household names. To me, the opportunity Ballers created for so many others, is the real gold of our show.  I love you, I thank you and enjoy our final season of BALLERS.”

Looking at the lives of former and current football players, Ballers follows former superstar Spencer Strasmore (Johnson) as he gets his life on track in retirement, while mentoring other current and former players through the daily grind of the business of football.

The series was the first major role for now-Golden Globe nominee and mega rising star, John David Washington. It also starred Rob Corddry, Omar Benson Miller. Brittany S. Hall, Arielle Kebbel, Jazmyn Simon, London Brown, Donovan W. Carter and Troy Garity.
