'Beckett' Trailer: John David Washington Stars In Netflix Summer Thriller

Netflix has dropped the first trailer for the upcoming summer thriller, Beckett. It was initially titled Born to be Murdered.

The film stars John David Washington, Boyd Holbrook, Vicky Krieps and Alicia Vikander.

Directed by Ferdinando Cito Filomarino from a screenplay by Kevin A. Rice, the film is produced by Luca Guadagnino, Marco Morabito, Francesco Melzi d’Eril and Gabriele Moratti.

The official description: While vacationing in Greece, American tourist Beckett (John David Washington) becomes the target of a manhunt after a devastating accident. Forced to run for his life and desperate to get across the country to the American embassy to clear his name, tensions escalate as the authorities close in, political unrest mounts, and Beckett falls even deeper into a dangerous web of conspiracy.

Born to Be Murdered is my take on the manhunt thriller, as inspired by so many movies and books I always admired. I have worked for years in creating its specific tone and story with the tireless support of my writer Kevin Rice, and I am honored to have the extraordinary John David Washington join me to portray the restless and conflicted journey of such a special character. I am thrilled to be working with the wonderful Alicia Vikander, the beautifully intense Vicky Krieps, the superb Boyd Holbrook. With this incredible cast and with my unique collaborators, Born to Be Murdered will be a fantastic experience that pushes genre to a new place," said Filomarino in a prior statement.
