In advance of the March 28th premiere of director John Singleton’s new BET series, “Rebel,” the network’s digital arm (BET Digital) will launch an adjunct web-series titled “I Need a Rebel.” All six episodes will be made available simultaneously, on March 14, with the complete series available also on the BET NOW App.

The “I Need a Rebel” story: On one night, in the city of Oakland, four locals, a DA, a family man, a college student and a young woman find their problems impossible to escape. Over the course of the night at The Last Chance bar their lives will intersect with deadly consequences. There is only one person who can help them…Rebel, a female private investigator who is as hard on crooked cops as she is on criminals, and could be just a phone call away.

This web series, written by Amani Walker, briefly acquaints viewers with Rebel’s character as the linear show’s lead actress Danielle Mone’ Truit makes a cameo. It includes Erika Ringor (“Love & Basketball”) and Tristan J. Winger (HBO’s “Insecure”).

Audiences can catch the entire series on BET.com on Tuesday, March 14, as well as on the BET Now app.
