BFM's Nadia Denton Pens "Black British Filmmaker's Guide To Success"

Nadia Denton, who founded and co-ordinated the Black Filmmakers Film Club in the U.K., has written a guide for Black British Filmmakers called appropriately enough, The Black British Filmmaker’s Guide to Success. But she hastens to add that the book is just not for black filmmakers in the U.K. but “to the wider international community of black filmmakers and filmmakers of other backgrounds making black content, or other cultural specific work.

According to Denton, the book is a “personal development guide that is packed with very practical guidance to assist filmmakers in securing funding, marketing and distribution opportunities for their films”

She further empathizes that the book is needed more than ever since filmmakers “are experiencing some of the most severe austerity measures of this generation, there is a need to provide extra encouragement to filmmakers and remind them of the D.I.Y approaches they can employ to bring their work to prominence.”

Go HERE to find out more about that book and you’ll be able to download a FREE .pdf copy of it, starting on October 1st.
