Billy Dee Williams returns to a galaxy far, far away!

He’ll reprise his role as Lando Calrissian for Star Wars: Episode IX.

The Hollywood Reporter exclusively broke the news, stating, “Chatter about Williams joining the production, which is set to begin later this summer, increased in recent days when the actor bowed out of an upcoming sci-fi and pop culture convention citing a conflict with a movie schedule.”

It will be his first Star Wars film since 1983’s The Empire Strikes Back.

It’s the second recent portrayal of the character, with Donald Glover playing a young Lando in Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Directed by J.J. Abrams (with Victoria Mahoney as second unit director), the film stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver and the recently-announced Keri Russell.

It will be in theaters in December 2019.
