Billy Porter is not mincing words regarding the struggles he and many other actors currently face amid the ongoing strikes in Hollywood.

While recently speaking with the Evening Standard, the Pose star admitted that a few of his upcoming projects have been put on hold due to the writers and actors on the picket lines, which has resulted in him experiencing some financial hardship.

“I have to sell my house,” he told the outlet. “Because we’re on strike. And I don’t know when we’re gonna go back [to work]. The life of an artist, until you make f**k-you money — which I haven’t made yet — is still check-to-check. I was supposed to be in a new movie, and on a new television show starting in September. None of that is happening.”

He added, “To the [studio executive] who said, ‘We’re going to starve them out until they have to sell their apartments,’ you’ve already starved me out.”

Porter went on to slam Disney executive Bob Iger, who came under fire last month for saying the strikes are “very disturbing” and will have a “very, very damaging effect on the whole business.”

“This is the worst time in the world to add to that disruption,” Iger said in an interview with CNBC at the time. Iger added that though he respects the writers and actors’ “right and their desire” to be compensated fairly, he believes they “have to be realistic about the business environment and what this business can deliver” as he’s convinced the strikes will cause “huge collateral damage.”

In response to Iger’s criticism, Porter said, “To hear Bob Iger say that our demands for a living wage are unrealistic? … I don’t have any words for it, but: f**k you. That’s not useful, so I’ve kept my mouth shut. I haven’t engaged because I’m so enraged. I’m glad I’ve been over here [London]. But when I go back, I will join the picket lines.”
