Gabrielle Union is adding to her producing slate with a project currently set at NBC, titled Black Girl Magic, 

Shadow And Act has learned that the potential series would revolve around three estranged sisters who learn a secret about their family history that brings them back to mystical New Orleans. The series is written by South Side‘s Emebeit Beyene, Crystal Bond and Chandra Russell. The project is in early development with just a script sale right now.

The three will executive produce along with Union, who will executive produce through her production company I’ll Have Another. I’ll Have Another’s Holly Shakoor Fleischer will also co-executive produce. Fellow executive producers also include Robia Rashid and Bryan Brucks.

Union is currently executive producing the dramedy Tips for Spectrum, where she also stars in the Bad Boys TV spinoff, L.A.’s Finest. In addition, Union is producing and starring in an upcoming rom-com film written by Chester Tam.
