On Friday, May 11, current series and pilots in contention at ABC either got very good news or very bad news.

For renewals of particular note per Shadow and Act‘s stated interest, the critically-acclaimed comedy black-ish has been renewed for a fifth season, and the trio of Shondaland’s remaining ABC dramas have also been renewed: How to Get Away with Murder (Season 5) and Station 19 and For the People both receiving a second season.

The first three were considered sure bets for renewal while most did not believe For the People would get a second season.

ABC also canceled Quantico and Designated Survivor on Friday. Both will wrap with their third and second seasons, respectively.
