Black Lightning will be back for Season 3! The DC Comics series’ early renewal was announced Thursday at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour.

Also coming back for new seasons will be Charmed (Season 2), Riverdale (Season 4), Supernatural (Season 15), Supergirl (Season 5), Arrow (Season 8), DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (Season 5), Dynasty (Season 3), The Flash (Season 6) and Legacies (Season 2).

“This season, we expanded our primetime schedule to six nights with the addition of Sunday — which has been an unqualified success for the network, our affiliates and our advertisers. In addition to growing our schedule across the week, we also continue to add more year-round programming. The early renewal of these signature CW series gives us a head start on laying out the 2019-2020 season, and this is just the beginning,” said Mark Pedowitz, president of The CW. “These shows provide a strong foundation for our multiplatform programming strategy, and we look forward to building on this with even more returning and new shows as we approach the May upfront.”

Black Lightning stars Cress Williams, Nafessa Williams, China McClain, Christine Adams, Damon Gupton and Marvin “Krondon” Jones III. Dynasty stars Sarah Jeffery, Melonie Diaz, Madeleine Mantock and Ser’Darius Blain. Riverdale stars include Vanessa Morgan and Ashleigh Murray.

It is unknown if Salim Akil will return to Black Lightning in some capacity after the graphic domestic violence allegations levied against him.
