Marvel Studios has added Mia Goth to the cast of the new Blade film starring Mahershala Ali.

According to Deadline, the Pearl and star will appear opposite Ali, who is starring in the titular role. However, it is unclear who Goth will be playing.

Marvel’s upcoming Blade film is a new take on the famed character, first introduced in live-action in the 1998 flick which starred Wesley Snipes in the titular role.

Goth joins a cast that has been confirmed to also include Delroy Lindo and Aaron Pierre.

The film brought on director Yann Demange after losing its original helmer Bassam Tariq.

Back in November 2022, it was announced that Lovecraft Country and When They See Us director Yann Demange had been brought on to helm the upcoming Blade film.

The announcement came a few weeks after Marvel revealed that Tariq would no longer be directing the vampire action-thriller.

“Due to continued shifts in our production schedule, Bassam is no longer moving forward as director of Blade but will remain an executive producer on the film,” Marvel said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “We appreciate Bassam’s talent and all the work he’s done getting Blade to where it is.”

Blade’s theatrical release date is still set for Sept. 6, 2024.
