A remake of the 1974 cult classic horror film, Black Christmas has cast Star actress Brittany O’Grady.

The new film will “center on a group of sorority sisters at Hawthorne College, who are being hunted down and killed by an unknown stalker. Soon, the killer learns that the school’s women are willing to mount a fight to stop the carnage.”

Directed by Sophia Takal, it will also star Imogen Poots, Aleyse Shannon, Lily Donoghue and Caleb Eberhardt.

The original Black Christmas film is considered to be a pioneering title in horror, specifically in the slasher sub-genre. The script for the remake, due in theaters this December, was written by April Wolfe.

O’Grady wrapped three seasons on the Fox Lee Daniels drama, Star, which was canceled at the network earlier this year.
