After just one episode, Starz’s BMF has been renewed for season 2 at the network — Shadow and Act has learned.

BMF tells the story of the real-life, American crime family: The Flenorys, set in 1980s Detroit. Produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, it debuted as the #1 premiere on the Starz app this year. The network states that it also ranks as “one of the most highly engaged series premieres ever with a strong  completion rate across OTT platforms based on preliminary reporting.”

The series stars Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr. (the real-life son of Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory), Da’Vinchi, Russell Hornsby, Michole Briana White, Ajiona Alexus, Eric Kofi-Abrefa, Myles Truitt and Steve Harris with Arkeisha “Kash Doll” Knight, Wood Harris and Snoop Dogg as recurring.

Here’s the description: BMF is inspired by the true story of two brothers who rose from the decaying streets of southwest Detroit in the late 1980s and gave birth to one of the most influential crime families in this country. Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory’s charismatic leadership, Terry “Southwest T” Flenory’s business acumen and the fraternal partnership’s vision beyond the drug trade and into the world of hip-hop would render the brothers iconic on a global level. Their unwavering belief in family loyalty would be the cornerstone of their partnership and the crux of their eventual estrangement. This is a story about love, kinship and capitalism in the pursuit of the American dream.

The series airs Sundays on Starz.
