Starz’s BMF had such a successful season 2 premiere that the network has already ordered a season 3!

Per the network, BMF‘s Season 2 debut on January 6 was ranked as the “#1 most socially engaged drama across all networks over premiere weekend” with over 4.1 million multiplatform viewers.

Here's an official description:

BMF dramatizes the inspiring true story of two brothers Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory (Demetrius Flenory, Jr.) and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory (Da’Vinchi), who rose from the decaying streets of southwest Detroit in the late ’80s and gave birth to one of the most influential crime families in the country, Black Mafia Family.

BMF is executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson alongside showrunner, executive producer, writer and Detroit native Randy Huggins. Heather Zuhlke, Anthony Wilson and Anne Clements also serve as executive producers. The series is produced through Jackson’s G-Unit Film and Television in association with Lionsgate Television for STARZ.

As a result of the sophomore season premiere's success, Starz is keeping the momentum goingn.

“BMF captures the essence of Detroit through elevated, gritty storytelling and our fans have passionately responded to this show more than ever before,” said Kathryn Busby, President of Original Programming for STARZ. “Following such a strong debut with season two, we’re thrilled to continue to expand on the incredible story of the Flenory brothers as they change the game by writing their own rules. We can’t wait to see what our extraordinary producers and cast deliver next.”

Demetrius “Meech” Flenory Jr. wanted to make Season 2 "bigger and better" than ever.

While speaking with Shadow and Act, BMF star opened up about the show’s explosive sophomore season, expressing his excitement for fans to see what’s in store for the Black Mafia Family.

“I’m a perfectionist like my dad,” Flenory Jr. said. “I want to get better and better every episode and every time I do a scene. So this season, Season 2, has to be bigger and better. Everything has to elevate. I can’t wait for people to see this season because it has way more dialogue and action. It’s deeper into the story, and people see my dad — more of himself. Season 1 was a beginning, and now we are getting into the deep part of the story.

“I hope the viewers can read between the lines and understand the BMF business,” he added, “It has a soul, and it’s about family. It doesn’t matter what race you are; you can still watch BMF and understand the meaning. I hope people see the docu-series [The BMF Documentary: Blowing Money Fast] because it makes them understand the show more. Once people understand the purpose of Meech and Terry and why they did what they did, how many lives and people they touched, they’ll understand it’s not just selling drugs.”

New episodes of “BMF” season two are streaming on the STARZ app and debut on STARZ Fridays at 8:00 PM ET/PT.
