Lashana Lynch has been cast in the upcoming James Bond film, known as Bond 25.  Naomie Harris and Jeffrey Wright will also return.

The full cast was announced on Thursday. Presumably, the Captain Marvel actress is taking on the role that was circled by Lupita Nyong’o. The latter was reportedly No. 1 on the shortlist to be Bond 25‘s female lead opposite Daniel Craig’s Bond and Rami Malek, who would play the villain.

Malek confirmed to be in the film on Thursday as well, alongside as Ana De Armas, Billy Magnussen and Dali Benssalah. Other returners with Harris and Wright are Ralph Fiennes, Lea Seydoux, Rory Kinnear and Ben Whishaw.

Bond 25, the final film for Craig, is being directed by Cary Fukunaga.

The film is due in theaters on April 8, 2020. It recently had a script rewrite from Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

MGM and Annapurna’s joint venture, United Artists Releasing, is handling U.S. distribution.
