Samuel L. Jackson is set to join director Peter Segal’s $130 million sci-fi movie “Inversion,” for producer Facing East.

Travis Fimmel (“Warcraft”) is attached to star in the movie as a street-wise American con man who teams up with a young Chinese physicist as they race against the clock to save the earth from a terrifying loss of gravity.

Chinese actress Liu Yifei (“Once Upon a Time,” The Forbidden Kingdom”) is set to play the Chinese physicist.

Jackson is in final negotiations to play a senior Homeland Security investigator who leads a chase across 2 continents, following the characters played by Fimmel and Yifei, believing that the two of them are the cause of the gravity inversions, hoping to prevent any further destruction.

“Inversion,” scripted by Paul Haggis, David Arata, and Bragi Schut, is set to begin principal photography on February 27 at Babelsberg studios in Berlin, and will continue in Shanghai and Chicago.

Facing East is producing alongside Michael Nozik. Executive producers are Michael Ewing, Jim Skotchdopole, and Mark Damon.

Jackson, one of the busiest actors working today, will next be seen in “Kong: Skull Island” for Warner Bros. on March 10, 2017, and “The Hitman’s Bodyguard” for Lionsgate on August 18, 2017.

Jackson is represented by ICM Partners and Anonymous Content.
