Cardi B made her first major film appearance in Hustlers, Cardi b has nabbed her first leading role. She will star in Paramount’s Assisted Living. A director is not attached but the film is based on an original spec script from This Is Us writer Kay Oyegun which triggered a bidding war, with Paramount coming out on top.

Per Variety, the outlet that broke this news, the film is described as “’raucous comedy’ with ‘tremendous heart,’ in the vein of classic funny films like Tootsie, Sister Act and Mrs. Doubtfire.

The film will follow Amber (Cardi B), “a small-time crook who finds herself in over her head when a heist goes wrong. On the run from the cops and her former crew, she struggles to find anywhere to hide. Running out of options, Amber disguises herself as an elderly woman and hides out in the one place no one will look — her estranged grandmother’s nursing home.” Temple Hill is producing, as well as Stephen “Dr” Love.

She will make another Hustlers-like appearance in the next Fast & Furious film as well. The rapper is also a judge on Netflix’s music competition series, Rhythm + Flow.
