Some new casting and project news not previously covered…

1 – Comedy Central has ordered what it calls an "urban coming-of-age animated comedy series," titled "Legends of Chamberlain Heights," which will focus on three high school freshman friends as they tackle life. Comedy Central says it will mix “raucous comedy and social commentary”. "The Simpsons" artist Brad Abelson developed the original concept, with Michael Starrbury ("Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete"), Mike Clements, and former UCLA basketball players, Quinn Hawking and Josiah Johnson, who provided inspiration for the characters.

2 – Steven Williams  has joined the cast of the upcoming second season of HBO drama series "The Leftovers" in a recurring role. Based on a novel about the aftermath of a Rapture-type event that causes the sudden disappearance of 2% of the world’s population, Williams has signed up to play a character named Virgil, who’s described as an outcast.

3 – La La Anthony has joined the cast of the TV series "Unforgettable" as a series regular. Originally airing on CBS, the crime procedural has now moved to A&E, receiving a 13 episode order for what will be a fourth season. Anthony will play a character named Delina Michaels, an up-and-coming medical examiner successful in everything but, of course, love. 

4 – Nathan Stewart-Jarrett ("Misfits") has been cast in the three-episode second season of the UK’s ITV’s thriller series. "Prey," which is not a direct sequel to season one, and will tell the story of Prison Officer David Murdoch, whose life becomes complicated when events spiral out of control on a routine visit to a Manchester hospital with a female prisoner. Nathan Stewart-Jarrett has been cast as DC Richard Iddon.

5 – Giancarlo Esposito has signed on to co-star in James Franco’s indie drama "The Long Home," which is based on the novel by William Gay, and is set in the 1940’s, and centers on a young contractor who is hired to build a honky-tonk in Tennessee by the man who killed his father. Franco is starring as Hardin. Esposito will play William Tell Oliver, described as "a Southern salt-of-the-earth man with a colorful, checkered life spent entirely within the confines of the county. He hunts ginseng for a living, and eats, breathes and lives the natural world he inhabits."

6 – And finally, Alfre Woodard has joined Talitha Bateman (“Hart of Dixie”) to star in the film adaptation of Sarah Weeks’ young adult novel “So B. It,” which will be directed by Stephen Gyllenhaal. “So B. It” follows a 12-year-old girl (Bateman) who decides to take a solo cross-country trip, leaving behind her mentally challenged mother and agoraphobic neighbor, portrayed by Woodard. Production will begin in Los Angeles in July.
