Some casting news announced this week that I missed…

– First, Malcolm-Jamal Warner has joined the cast of FX’s "American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson," to play A.C. Cowlings, the former pro football player and friend of the defendant, who was also the driver of the white Ford Bronco in the infamous televised police chase. Warner joins Cuba Gooding Jr., who will play Simpson; John Travolta, as Robert Shapiro; David Schwimmer as Robert Kardashian; Selma Blair as Kris Kardashian; Connie Britton as Faye Resnick; Courtney Vance as Johnnie Cochran; and Sarah Paulson as Marcia Clark.

The 10-episode miniseries, hailing from Ryan Murphy will premiere next TV season.

– Second, Vanessa Williams has joined the cast of "Royal Pains," the USA Network medical-comedy-drama. She’s signed up to play a character named Olympia Houston, who’s described as a generous benefactor at the Hamptons Heritage Center for Rare and Orphan Diseases, with a reputation for dating powerful men. She will first appear during the June 23 episode, as the series begins its 7th season, premiering on June 2 at 10 p.m. on USA.

– Samuel L. Jackson has joined the cast of Simon West’s remake of the 1958 cult classic "The Blob,"

which follows the mayhem caused by an alien life form that threatens a small town.

Jackson has signed up to play a biochemistry professor attempting to destroy the alien predator that’s discovered deep within the earth.

The project is being shopped at Cannes. Shooting is expected to begin this fall.

– And finally, Method Man is in talks to join Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele in the New Line Comedy "Keanu," which is to be directed by Peter Atencio, and follows a group of friends posing as drug dealers in order to retrieve a stolen cat. Peele penned the script along with Alex Rubens. No word on what character Method will play.
